FAQ

Can I "try out" MOMS Club of Middleton before joining?

Prospective members may attend two monthly meetings or one monthly meeting and one public activity as a guest to find out more about our club before making the decision to join. Our complete monthly roster, which includes playgroups and activities that take place in members' homes, is private and we only distribute it to actual members.

How do I join?

To join the group, please contact our Membership Vice President at middletonmoms@gmail.com. You will need to complete a registration form and pay our annual dues of $25. Once we receive both of these, we will send you a calendar of our current month's activities, as well as a roster with all members' names and contact information.

Do I have to live in Middleton to join?

All moms who have mailing addresses in Middleton, Waunakee, Westport, or Cross Plains are welcome to join MOMS Club of Middleton. If your mailing address isn't in one of these areas, please go to the International MOMS Club for information about the club in your area. If there isn't a club in your area, the International MOMS Club's Web site has information about starting your own club.

Does my child need to be a certain age in order for me to join?

No. There is no minimum age or age limit for participation in MOMS Club of Middleton. Though most of our child-centered activities are geared towards children ages five and under, we welcome children of all ages and even have a "MOMS Playgroup" that is specifically meant as a social time for moms whose children are older and in school during the day. We have playgroups that are organized according to age, including a playgroup for infants (or, more accurately, for the moms of infants!), as well as an "all ages" playgroup.

What is the membership fee?

Annual dues are $25.00 and pay for speaker fees, room rental charges for our monthly membership meetings, community service projects, annual chapter dues to the International MOMS Club, supplies, and various other expenses that come with running a club. We publish our budget and expenses in our monthly newsletter, and our Treasurer is happy to speak to any member who has questions or concerns about the budget. MOMS Club of Middleton will not turn down a mother seeking membership due to her inability to pay, so please let our Vice President for Membership know if paying the fee would cause financial hardship to your family.

I work part-time. Can I still join MOMS Club?

Yes. We have a number of members who work outside the home part-time, half-time, and even full-time! We hold activities in the mornings and in the afternoons/early evenings to try to make sure that there are events for everyone's schedule, and some members with full-time jobs enjoy joining us for our monthly MOMS Nights Out. Recent MOMS Night Out events have included dinner at local restaurants (especially the kind of restaurants most of us don't get to go to with our kids), movies, holiday themed parties at a member's home, and even a self-defense class.

Can I still be a part of MOMS Club if my child goes to school during the day?

Of course. Though most of our child-centered activities are geared towards children ages five and under, we welcome children of all ages and even have a "MOMS Playgroup" that is specifically meant as a social time for moms whose children are older and in school during the day. And our monthly MOMS Night Out are fun for all of our member moms!
